5^th June 2015, Karachi The World Environment Day is being celebrated today with the theme of ‘sustainable living’. Lucky Cement Limited (LUCK), known for its pro-environment efforts and corporate philanthropy, celebrated World Environment day through various engagements and initiatives across its offices in Pakistan.
The company conducted an internal awareness generation campaign to educate its employees about the importance of living a sustainable life through emails, posters, and graphics displayed across all offices in Pakistan. The company also conducted a plantation ceremony at its Karachi plant, and has to date planted over 25,000 trees around both its plant vicinities.
Lucky Cement (LUCK) has been recognized domestically and internationally for using environment friendly technologies and innovations at its manufacturing sites. The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) of Netherlands issued an A+ ranking to Lucky Cement (LUCK) for its sustainability disclosures in the company’s last sustainability report. The company has also been awarded several times by various local bodies for its pro-environment practices.
